Estimated read time 4 min read

Vero Beach is an incredible vacation destination located on Florida’s East Coast, halfway between Melbourne and Palm Beach. It is part of Florida’s Treasure Coast and has abundant outdoor attractions, citrus, and was home to the LA Dodgers for years in the past. You can also explore Vero Beach’s beaches, parks and dog park options. With many beautiful, un-crowded beaches to choose from, you can find the perfect spot for your beach day in the Atlantic Ocean. A vibrant Arts & Culture scene includes galleries, museums, theatres, and more. And you can bring the kids! There are plenty of fun family options in Vero Beach. Let’s see the Best Things to Do in Vero Beach- An Incredible Vacation Destination in the article below.

The Environmental Learning Center

The Environmental Learning Center

Located on Live Oak Drive in Vero Beach, the Environmental Learning Center is set on a 60-plus acre site that’s comprised of both indoor space and pristine natural habitats.

The center’s interactive exhibits include live animals, a visitor’s center and gift shop, and several areas dedicated to the educational and instructional courses offered by the staff. There’s an idyllic lagoon on-site as well, and pontoon boat tours are available regularly.

Most guests choose to see the center partly on their own and partly by joining a regularly scheduled tour. Expect to spend a few hours on site.

Enjoy delicious Local Restaurants

You’ll find a wide array of local eats in Vero Beach, especially on the island. Here are my suggestions for where and what to eat for each meal.
Have breakfast on the beach at Cobalt inside the Vero Beach Hotel. Try the Coconut French Toast. Or, if you prefer watching the airplanes take off and land at the Vero Beach Regional Airport, C.J. Cannon’s is a locals’ favorite.

For lunch, enjoy typical burgers, sandwiches, and yummy barbecue at Casey’s Place, a popular window-serve outdoor cafe a few streets from the beach. Have a delicious lobster roll at Red Onion Eatery on Ocean Drive, or our favorite, The Traveler’s Shrimp from Waldo’s, on the oceanfront at Driftwood Resort.

Relax on the Beach

in Vero Beach

Vero Beach is where you can relax and enjoy plenty of beach access in several full-service parks. Wabasso Beach Park has wide, quiet beaches and is perfect for swimming. Golden Sands Beach Park is traditional, with lifeguards and a picnic area. It has dressing facilities, restrooms, and showers. It’s a good place to snorkel or Scuba dive.

Jaycee Park, with more than eight acres of oceanfront, is perfect for family gatherings and has a playground, a boardwalk, and a large picnic area as well as a restaurant. Lastly, Humiston Beach Park is located in the middle of Vero Beach’s shopping district. All year long, this four-acre park has arts and crafts show in the park and numerous festivals. Humiston Beach Park and Jaycee Park are the only two of the Vero Beaches that provide beach wheelchairs.

Paleo Discoveries

Paleo Discoveries helps you find the remains of ancient sharks, saber-tooth cats, mammoths, mastodons, tapirs, horses, sloths, and even giant armadillos. You can have your child’s next party at a local fossil dig, an event he or she will never forget.

After meeting at local sites, staff members will help your partners find all kinds of genuine Florida fossils that are millions of years old. Discover your own piece of history – one you can actually hold in your hand. These trips are fun, safe, and instructive. Walk-in or canoe fossil tours are available. Many products featured on the online store are available for purchase during tours.

Catch a show at Riverside Theater

Catch a show at Riverside Theater

The star of Riverside Park Drive- Riverside Theater is a must when you visit Vero Beach. It is one of the most enjoyable places in Vero Beach as this one is a professional theater. No matter when you visit- you will get to see some unique plays as there are more than 300 shows that go on per year.

This was a private theater once that was solely built on the money collected by a few locals, but now it is one of the jewels of Vero Beach. It also teaches classes. If you are into acting, you can sign up for one of the classes or a special lecture that takes place! There is even a restaurant accompanied by a bar inside the theater.
